And it takes approximately 4000 light years to travel from one end of the Milkey Way to the other end.

Okay so I did not post this up the very next day after i reached home. Or even the next week. Don't blow a fuse over it! Here's what i did in Beijing. I'm doing it in stages.

PART 1

Hi ! I'm back from Beijing. My goodness it is cold there. But a nice change from Malaysia. I'm gonna post some pics and tell you what happened. enjoy! Ps. some of the pics might not be the right way up.

Okay so we left the house at 8. I dun remember what time we reached.We walked around for a bit then had a pizza at "Seborro". We boarded the plane after 10 mins or so, found our seats quickly and luckily there was one empty seat so me, mom and aunt have the whole row to ourselves. Ha-ha-ha! Didi you know Malaysia airlines seats are colourful? Blue red, orange and green. We took off at 12.40.i thought we would sleep straight away but nope! sleep was disrupted. apparently they off lights just for take off. UGH!

so after that I only got 2 hours of sleep, kept on getting woken up by a cry baby who kept on crying"mama mama" in this totally annoying voice, kept being served food when i wanted to sleep! did i miss out anything? nope guess not.

Okay when we landed it was -6 degrees. Cold!

Next we went to the small pets market. It was so CRUEL! they didn't even bother to keep the animals warm. there were birds, kittens, dogs, puppies, chickens (yes chickens), fish and turtles. The fish and turtles were okay cause they had heating. but the others not so lucky. some of the puppies were kept in bread boxes. Kittens were in cages that were VERY small.

After, we went for dinner "Shin Kong Palace". They have this specialty dish. Its like dim sum, but instead of solid filling, it is filled with soup! Yum. Its was de-lish.

~*~ATLANTA - Cancer will overtake heart disease as the world's top killer by 2010, part of a trend that should more than double global cancer cases and deaths by 2030, international health experts said in a report released Tuesday. Rising tobacco use in developing countries is believed to be a huge reason for the shift, particularly in China and India, where 40 percent of the world's smokers now live.

So is better diagnosing of cancer, along with the downward trend in infectious diseases that used to be the world's leading killers.

Cancer diagnoses around the world have steadily been rising and are expected to hit 12 million this year. Global cancer deaths are expected to reach 7 million, according to the new report by the World Health Organization.

An annual rise of 1 percent in cases and deaths is expected _ with even larger increases in China, Russia and India. That means new cancer cases will likely mushroom to 27 million annually by 2030, with deaths hitting 17 million.

Underlying all this is an expected expansion of the world's population _ there will be more people around to get cancer.

By 2030, there could be 75 million people living with cancer around the world, a number that many health care systems are not equipped to handle.

"This is going to present an amazing problem at every level in every society worldwide," said Peter Boyle, director of the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Boyle spoke at a news conference with officials from the American Cancer Society, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Cancer Institute of Mexico.

The "unprecedented" gathering of organizations is an attempt to draw attention to the global threat of cancer, which isn't recognized as a major, growing health problem in some developing countries.

"Where you live shouldn't determine whether you live," said Hala Moddelmog, Komen's chief executive.

The organizations are calling on governments to act, asking the U.S. to help fund cervical cancer vaccinations and to ratify an international tobacco control treaty.

Concerned about smoking's impact on cancer rates in developing countries in the decades to come, the American Cancer Society also announced it will provide a smoking cessation counseling service in India.

"If we take action, we can keep the numbers from going where they would otherwise go," said John Seffrin, the cancer society's chief executive officer.

Other groups are also voicing support for more action.

"Cancer is one of the greatest untold health crises of the developing world," said Dr. Douglas Blayney, president-elect of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

"Few are aware that cancer already kills more people in poor countries than HIV, malaria and tuberculosis combined. And if current smoking trends continue, the problem will get significantly worse," he said in a written statement. ~*~

Through a Rapist's Eyes (No Joke)**

This is important information for females of ALL ages.

A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1) The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun, braid or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed . They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.

2) The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who's clothing is easy to remove quickly . Many of them carry scissors around specifically to cut clothing.

3) They also look for women on their cell phone, searching through their purse, or doing other activities while walking because they are off-guard and can be easily overpowered.

4) Men are most likely to attack & rape in the early morning, between 5:00a.m. and 8:30a.m.

5) The number one place women are abducted from/attacked is grocery store parking lots . Number two: is office parking lots/garages. Number three: is public restrooms.

6) The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to another location where they don't have to worry about getting caught.

7) Only 2% said they carried weapons because rape carries a 3-5 year sentence but rape with a weapon is 15-20 years.

8) If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn't worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9) These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas, or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands. Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you're not worth it.

10) Several defense mechanisms he taught us are: If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: 'I can't believe it is so cold out here,' 'we're in for a bad winter.' Now you've seen their face and could identify them in a line-up; you lose appeal as a target.

11) If someone is coming toward you , hold out your hands in front of you and yell 'STOP!' or 'STAY BACK!' Most of the rapists this man talked to said they'd leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

12) If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes), yell 'I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY!' and holding it out will be a deterrent.

13) If someone grabs you , you can't beat them with strength but you can by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm (between the elbow and armpit) OR in the upper inner thigh VERY VERY HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands - the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it - it hurts.

14) After the initial hit, always GO for the GROIN. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy's parts it is extremely painful. You might think that you'll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble and he's out of there.

15) When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible . The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

16) Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don't dismiss it, go with your instincts!!!You may feel a little silly at the time, but you'd feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2.Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3.If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4.Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.) DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

a. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot or parking garage:

A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat.

B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times. And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zigzag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP! It may get you raped or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do,

DO NOT open the door.' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it , but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.DO NOT open the door for a crying baby -- This should be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.

What happened today!

Hi... okay... today... today went well... everybody arrived late... but that's okay... so after everybody came we went ice skating... woo~ then during ice skating i fell 5? maybe 6 times... and out of those 5-6 times, three times i injured myself... nothing serious... first i bruised my elbow... but i don't think u count that as an injury... after that i landed on my hip.. ouch.. not so bad i still could move... the worst one was my arm, i fell on it.. at first i couldn't move it but only for awhile.. so i continued skating... now... well now its only pain if i put it in certain positions... all of us fell one way or another... but nic fell badly... she bruised or twisted the knee muscle... can't walk or straighten it.... Oh yeah.... I can finally skate without holding on to the wall... YEA!

Okay after that we went for archery... that's about it...

CAIRO, Nov 11, 2008 (AFP) - - A 4,300-year-old pyramid has been discovered at the Saqqara necropolis outside Cairo, Egypt's culture minister said on Tuesday.

Faruq Hosni made the announcement at a press conference in Saqqara, an ancient burial ground which dates back to 2,700 BC and is dominated by the massive bulk of King Zoser's step pyramid, the first ever built.

Husni said the pyramid, five metres (16 foot) tall, is believed to have been 15 metres tall when it was first built for Queen Sesheshet, the mother of King Teti who founded the 6th Dynasty of Egypt's Old Kingdom.

The pyramid's base was discovered "20 metres below the sands and a doorway for the burial place was also discovered," Hosni said, adding that it seems thieves had looted the pyramid.

Badminton and stuff

Soo...today was badminton...and it was alright... except that we lost on the first match... that sucked... but on the bright side the pair we opposed were evenly matched... so that cheered us up... they were one year older that us though...

Friendship

Have you ever fought with a friend you valued alot?... If you have then you know how I feel... Not more than a half-hour ago I said something that could have jeopardized the entire friendship... something that came from a heartless person or one who who was blinded by anger... never let anger blind your actions and words... you'll regret it sooner or later. All you'll feel sad, worried, confused, even close to crying. Nothing you do or say will ever take away the impact of your word or words on that person. And no matter how many times you apologise the emotional scar will still be there. Right there in your heart and soul. Regret can be overwhelming in ways you can never imagine.

To that person, I am really and truly sorry. I will not know if you can ever find it in your heart to forgive me. I have expressed my apology to this person.

Losing a friend can be as traumatizing as losing someone dear to you. Never let it happen. I am a person who values friendship alot.

Gymnastics Exam/ Results

*sigh*... finally the exam/competition is over... It was a tiring day...

8.45a.m : I woke up and freshen up. Then had light breakfast.
10.30a.m. : I had lunch. After that i changed into my gym costume.
11.30a.m. : We left the house.
12.10p.m. : Reached Bukit Jalil.
12.30p.m. : Coach tied my hair into a bun.
12.40p.m.-1.00p.m. : Everyone else starts arriving.
1.30p.m.-5.00p.m.: Sat around doing nothing with my friends.
5.30p.m.: Competition actually started.
7.20p.m.: Finished all four routines.
8.20p.m.: Received results.

What a long day... and tomorrow have to go to school... wahh!.... on the bright side I got a medal!!! for my hoop routine. top 10 will get medals.

Hari Raya...

Heyz... okay i haven't updated my blog in a long time so here goes.......

Okay... so last wed (1/9) at about 12+ i went to my neighbour's house to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa... so fun... the food was veeerrrry nice.... they cooked nasi kunyit, roti jala, curry chicken and another type of curry, cookies, and juice... yum..... :)..... I'm sure your mouth will water if you saw the food.... lol.... :)...... also i had time to catch up with my pals... haven't seen them in so long.... last time when we were younger we would go out to the park everyday... and now we don't... :(.... so lonely(sniff).......

No la just kidding XD.....

So after that we left at about 3+ and we made our way to Genting Highlands.... we stayed over night (1/9-2/9)... but on our way up, nearing the hotels, there was a terrible jam. And I mean TERRIBLE....... so we tried to slowly make our way up, but failed.. so we stopped at some point of the road and tried to wait out the jam.... unfortunately, things didn't turn out well... we were stuck for a solid 2 hours and the jam didn't ease up one stinking bit.... in the end my dad asked me and my mom to walk up first as we were quite near already... so we did and it took us, say, 15 mins to walk up... we tried to check in... but since my dad booked the room they needed his signature so we had to wait... and wait... and WAIT... in the end we decided to do some shopping while waiting as there was still some 200 people before us... so while shopping i managed to find two nice t-shirts.... a wallet..... and I think that's all.... for the first day...... oh and we finally managed to check in at about 9+..... then we did more shopping... lol... but didn't buy anything more... after that we went back to our room at about 12+... showered, change into PJ's, on TV for awhile then zzz's

Next day we woke up at 10+ my mom woke up earlier to go down to buy tickets to the theme park... smart... at least we didn't have to wait in line... for the tickets anyway... I can't say the same for the rides... the lines were damn long... but we managed to get a few rides.... one of them was the bumper boat.... in that ride i got WET..... nearly the whole of my jeans got wet... and since we were in Genting it got cold... VERY cold... achoo!!....... another one of the rides was the flying coaster... it was fun..... :)...... then it started to drizzle so we went to the bizarre and..... we went shopping!.... lol... haha... anyways we looked around and bought some things that were nice and at reasonable prices.... we had ridden all the ride already so we decided to check out and head home.... we reached home at about 5-6.... after that all went back to be boring.... :)... lol...

What a busy Hari Raya... :)

Tomorrow got school... wahhh.... sigh... oh well

So I've pretty much wrote everything... so bye...

Well today was...... 2day I went for swimming class and nearly mastered the butterfly stroke.... Yea!!.... hahaha... well after that it was relatively boring.......oh and then there was dance class.... and that was rather upsetting......... the people who are performing for the P&A nite... came and took over the dance room... without even letting us know!!! Can you believe them???I mean at least tell us 2 days b4 hand... is that so hard??........ so.... basically the day was boring, with a capital 'B'....

oh and BTW *** has been getting on my nerves lately.....(the person won't be identified)... so that day I wore a black shirt and white mini-skirt..... so *** was there as well... I needed to put my things down so I walked past *** and *** just had to say " Err.... I won't wear that."......... Aargghhhhh!!!!!!!!! I mean I wasn't even wearing that for *** i was wearing that for MYSELF!!! can't I do that without getting comments from ***?!?!?!??!?!!?!? Aaarrggghhhh!!!!!!!! I'm so freaking PISSED OFF rite now........ And you know what pissed me off the most?!?!??? *** thought I was wearing that for ***.... sometimes I feel *** thinks I do things to "impress" ***..... Well, I was rite today was more interesting, well it first started when I got off the bus and walked to the waiting area..... me and my friend, Yi Lynn, decied to sit down one one of the benches and talk about our history project(which, thankfully is going to be over soon).... then we said something funny and burst out laughing... hahaha......

Okay, then after that, we had our first lesson, math. The worksheet was a mixture of what we had learned, algebra included... oh and by the way I'm not good, okay suck, at algerbra... so then I told nic "I suck at algerbra" and then she burst into a laughing fit........... whan she calmed down, i asked her what was so funny......... her reply? " I heard you say ' I suck at wearing my bra'".......... i mean c'mon....... its not like i'm actually going to say that in my life....... who would??...... okay I admit... I laughed my head off at first.... but I don't think anyone would say that i their life...

okay so i just visited julia's blog... and wouldn't you know it, she puts that ridiculous song... oi.... sorry ju.... i don't really like that song..... its now stuck in my haed and causing my ears to tinggle...(not in the good way mind you)...

ugh... ouch... this morning i woke up with a broken back(not litterally)... boy is it hard to move around without feeling the pain... THE PAIN.... lol :-) hahaha... okay anyways i hope more people will vist my blog....

Opps.... look at the time!

Hi, this is my first time blogging, so tell me what you think about it okay??......... You can be brutal about it too, i don't really mind.

So today I was on my way to gymnastics when suddenly we got stuck in a traffic jam... boy did that suck... and the worst part was that we were already running late!! One of the roads was blocked and everyone had to go on the same road....we were stuck for ,like, maybe a half hour before it was smooth driving to class.... I thought my teacher was going to cook me alive if I was late.....

When we actually got there, the class hasn't even started yet...... turns out my hand phone's clock was 10 minutes early...... all that panic for nothing........ Lol... :-)

I guess next time I'll leave the house 20 minutes early just in case...
